Level 1 builder guide
Link an artist image in Squarespace.
Keep the image and page you already designed. Add one stable artist destination with the normal link control in Squarespace.
Before you start
Create and copy the artist destination, then return here. One ordinary image can open one destination. For a poster with several artists, keep the poster as it is and add separate artist images below it. Clickable regions inside one poster are still a concept preview.
These steps cover an Image block. Gallery sections and gallery blocks use a separate link field for each image.
Add the link
- 1
Select the Image block
Edit the event page, then select the existing Image block for that artist.
- 2
Open Attach Link
Choose the link icon in the block toolbar. You can also choose the pencil icon and then Attach Link. Some layouts ask you to choose On Image before Attach Link appears.
- 3
Paste the artist destination
Enter the stable Abrazo artist destination in the URL field, then apply the change.
- 4
Save the page
Save the page. If the image still opens in a lightbox, turn off that image's lightbox behavior so the artist link receives the tap.
Test the published page on mobile
- 1Publish the change, then open the published page on a real phone. Builder preview modes can behave differently from the live site.
- 2Tap the image once. Confirm that the intended Abrazo artist page opens and that the browser Back button returns to the same place on your event page.
- 3Repeat the test in a narrow portrait view. Make sure the image still fits the page and the tap does not open a lightbox or a media file instead.
Remove the link without removing the image
- 1.Edit the same Image block and reopen Attach Link.
- 2.Clear or remove the web address, apply the change, and save the page. The image remains on the page.
